2 Sway Bowmen travelled to Minehead in Somerset for the week of 15th June to 23rd June to take part in Dunster Week held in the grounds of Dunster Castle run by Grand Western Archery Association. Different rounds are shot every day. The weather was wet and very windy except for Longbow day when it was bright and sunny. A very popular week with archers coming from all across England and even visitors from Holland.
Charlotte Warne and Sandie Baigent from Sway Bowmen had a succesful week with Charlotte winning many medals.
Charlotte Warne shooting Barebow shot on Monday a Fita round scoring 671 and placed 1st Lady Barebow. On Tuesday she shot a field course shooting at 3d animals in amongst the trees scoring 316 and coming 2nd Lady Barebow. On Wednesday Longbow day with nearly 200 longbow archers she shot a 2way Western round scoring 206. On Thursday shot a clout shooting at a flag set in the ground 140yds away. scoring 140 coming 1st Lady Barebow. On Saturday and Sunday shot a Double Hereford round scoring 653 and 544 coming 1st Lady Barebow visitor. Also Charlotte won the Victor Ladorum for shooting all week with the highest results for Barebow.Therefore winning four 1st place and one 2nd place.
Sandie Baigent shooting Longbow took part in an Albion round on Tuesday scoring 134 and on Wednesday Longbow Day a 2way Western round scoring 153 and on Friday shot a Western round scoring 220 no medals this time.
