Sunday's field shoot was enjoyed by 11 archers who attended the event, most archers went around the course twice to complete a 'Big Game round'. Animal target faces were used and included bears, wild boar and the occasinal racoon!!!... The targets were very challenging and included shooting through a gap in the trees, downhill and uphill shots, the shooting distance ranged between 10mtrs and 60mtrs. The weather was nice a sunny and everyone had a great time.
Also on Sunday 13th Nov. 2 archers took part in a double Portsmouth round at AC Delco indoor shoot in Eastleigh 5 doz arrows at 20yds twice. Paul Graham (Recurve) 531 and 544 with a double score of 1075 and Philip Graham (Junior Recurve) 540 and 503 with a double score of 1043 placing him Silver medal 2nd Gent under 18 for single round and Silver medal 2nd Gent under 18 for double round.
On Saturday evening 12th Nov 13 archers took part in a Vegas shoot indoors at New Milton recreation center. A Vegas round is set at 20yds and 5doz arrows are shot 3 at time on a set of 3 small target faces, arrows are numbered and they have to hit the right target to score 1 in target 1, 2 in target 2and 3 in target 3. Quite difficult but fun. The three top scores were Chris Baigent 530 Trevor Smith 501 and Trevor Chalk 481 all shooting Recurve bows. Other scores were Mal thomas (R) 419, Ian Fleming (R) 373 Steve Humphrey (R) 371, Irene Page (R) 187, Ben Thorpe (Junior recurve) 213 and Emily Thomas (Junior Recurve) 163. Also Annie Humphrey (Junior Compound) 410. Sandie Baigent (Longbow) 175, Richard Oldfield (Traditional) 113 and Olivia Humphrey (Junior Barebow) 84.
On Sunday 6th Nov Sandie Baigent travelled to Portsmouth to take part in a double Portsmouth round run by Forest of Bere Bowmen. An indoor round of 5doz arows at 20yds twice. Sandie scored 372 and 331 with a double score of 703 placing her 2nd for a single round and first for a double.
