Another good showing for Tuesday night, 26 archers attended to shoot a Bray I round.
Once again some really good scores being posted, with Darren Firth, Jodie Green, Amanda Rios and Roisheen Sweeney all improving on their handicap. Honours of the night must go to Ben Mason who shot a score of 228. A personal best which overshot his handicap by 66 points, earning him 16 performance points in the league and making a late challenge for the top of Division 3.

Only two league nights (and one practice) left. Coming Tuesday night is a Worcester Round, so remember you will need 5 arrows. For those who can't remember, a Worcester is this one.....
See you Tuesday! All members welcome, even if it's your first time.

Last Tuesday was St. Valentine's night and 15 archers arrived to romance the targets. There was music, there were chocolates and most importantly a Bray II round to be shot. Once again we moved our shooting line (this time to 25 yards) and were able to enjoy a round we haven't shot indoors in a long time.
There were plenty of points available for the winter league with the usual attendance and performance points. There was also an additional bonus point if you could land an arrow in the heart drawn on each target face at least once in the session.
Standings after Round 10 are here. Round 11 on Tues Feb 21st, we are back to shooting a Bray I. All members welcome 6:45pm.

Tonight we saw twenty-six archers shoot a Worcester round. Once again we just managed to squeeze this five dozen round into the two-hour time slot.
It's now incredibly tight in divisions one, three and four. Only division two has a leader with a commanding lead. There is still honour to play for in who can secure second place.
Congratulations to Chris Baigent who shot an amazing 297 out of 300. We are awaiting confirmation from our Records Officer as to whether this is a new club record. Those three stray arrows have got to hurt though, maybe the next Worcester on 28th will see a perfect round?

Next week 7th Feb is a practice night, but also a chance to make up a missing round if you wish.
League Night 10 will be on Feb 14th, so there might just be a theme and some heart-shaped bonus points on offer.

After 8 Rounds, 2 weekend extras and the Indoor Championships here is how the Winter League is looking
Indoor League Standings After Round 8 (24-01-2023)
It's very close in Division 1 with Stuart Thomas taking the lead after shooting a superb '270' personal best (according to the records).
Division 2 is less close with Darren Firth disappearing over the horizon. The lead is not completely unassailable, but with Darren also shooting a personal best of '213' it's going to be a challenge for the chasers.
Division 3 has a new leader, Hannah Diffey, who has finally put the competition behind her with a personal best of '159'.
Division 4 is very close, with Tony Silver's stunning shooting and performance points from Round 2 keeping him just ahead.
We still have 5 league nights and one weekend extra to go, so it's still all to play for. Next up is Round 9 on 31st Jan, we will be shooting a Worcester Round. Divisional Trophies will be awarded at the AGM at the end of March. Date to be announced soon. Please also note a change to the calendar, the 'weekend extra' planned on Sat 11th Feb has now moved to Sun 12th Feb. We will be shooting a WA25.
All members welcome.
